The first responsibility of anyone to society is to make a contribution through good work. YAMADA believes that we have now entered an age in which the govemment, industry and the individual must make an extra effort in order to contribute to a society that has reached cultural maturity. The ways in which we can make contributions is by no means limited or predetermined. What is important is that we work within a "What can we do now?" mind set. Based on this way of thinking, YAMADA carries out a variety of communication activities that help to keep us in close touch with our local communities.

Magokoro (Genuine Courtesy) Cooperation Box |
 |
The YAMADA MANUFACTURING CO., LTD., has been supporting the "Fund for People with Mental Disabilities" since 1999. Every year the company sets up these Magokoro Cooperation Boxes in the cafeteria and in other locations throughout the company in April. Employees fill the boxes with used postage stamps and used (prepaid) telephone cards. In March of the following year, the boxes are collected and the contents are sent via the Kiryu Municipal Health & Welfare Council to the "Birthday Thank-you Group" in Kobe, in Hyogo Prefecture. This group then sells the stamps and cards to foreign collectors. The proceeds from these sales are then returned and put to use in a variety of ways in the "Fund for People with Mental Disabilities". |
