YAMADA carries out research and development activities for passenger car steering column assemblies that are manufactured in Japan, the United States and Thailand. The steering column assemblies are extremely important units responsible for transmitting the control of a moving vehicle from the steering wheel to the steering gear box. They are also equipped with shock absorption construction designed to protect the driver in the case of a collision. In order for the driver to assume the most comfortable driving posture, the assemblies are also equipped with a tilt function (to adjust the height of the steering wheel) and a telescoping function (to adjust the distance between the wheel and the driver).

 YAMADA manufactures racks and pinions for steering gear boxes used in passenger cars. The rack and pinion mechanism is extremely important in carrying out steering adjustments through revolutions of the steering wheel. We have put together a wide range of variations capable of responding to manual steering, oil pressure steering and electrically powered power steering. Our variable ratio rack gears, which help to improve control stability and reduce handle rotational torque, are energy efficient and especially appropriate for electrical powered power steering.
