YAMADA Human Rights Policy

YAMADA Human Rights Policy

YAMADA has worked to contribute to society through its products as set forth in its Company Principle, its founding idea, and continues to operate with that intention through its business today.
We are also committed to spreading joy to people all over the world through our products, just as our Corporate Philosophy states.
As our Conduct Guidelines call for, we strive to operate through fair business activities and contribute to the community. To this end, we have established the Human Rights Policy in order to meet the expectations of all who support us, and fulfill our responsibility to respect and protect the human rights of all the stakeholders who are impacted by our business practices.
Under this policy, we strive to respect human rights and engage in sustainable business activities.

1.Commitment to Human Rights

YAMADA is aware of the impact its business activities may have on the human rights of various stakeholders both inside and outside the company.
We respect human rights declared in the International Bill of Human Rights and the principles concerning fundamental rights set out in the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, and support the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, working to implement these principles in our business activities.
In such situations in which the local laws of the countries and regions we operate in differ from the international standards for human rights, we elect to follow the higher of the two standards, and seek ways to respect internationally recognized human rights to the greatest extent possible if conflicts arise.

4.Human Rights Due Diligence

YAMADA will establish a due diligence system which identifies violations of human rights and works to prevent and mitigate them in an ongoing process.

5.Remedy and Relief

When it becomes apparent that YAMADA has in some manner violated human rights or fostered violations of human rights, YAMADA shall work to remedy the situation and promote the development of effective mechanisms to bring about the appropriate relief. We shall also promote the creation and maintenance of procedures to express grievances for such purposes.

6.Dialogue and Consultation with Stakeholders

In an effort to further elevate and improve human rights endeavors, YAMADA will utilize outside expertise and engage in dialogue and consultation with related stakeholders.

7.Education
